Susan Collins receives small business endorsement in Maine

Senator Susan Collins received an endorsement from the National Federation of Independent Businesses during an event in Naples, Maine. Local business owners at the event praised Collins for her role in enacting the Paycheck Protection Program, which helped prevent layoffs during the COVID-19 pandemic.

During the event, Collins also expressed her intention to vote for Republican gubernatorial candidate Bobby Charles in the upcoming November election. While both are Republicans, the two candidates represent different political styles; Charles is a political newcomer with an anti-establishment campaign, whereas Collins has served in the Senate for nearly three decades. Collins previously noted she was not a fan of Charles' suggestion to involve the Trump administration in immigration enforcement at polling places.
