Susan Gardner appointed CIO of Georgia Ports Authority

The Georgia Ports Authority (GPA) announced that Susan Gardner, formerly Vice President of Operations, has been promoted to Chief Information Officer. GPA President Kevin Price said Gardner’s “terminal operating expertise, systems knowledge and leadership will take us to the next level of performance for our customers and port users.” In her prior role she oversaw daily operations at the Port of Savannah, which handles about 40 ships and 42 double‑stack trains each week and processes roughly 15,000 truck transactions daily, moving 5.67 million TEUs in fiscal year 2026.

Gardner joined GPA in 2020 after more than three decades in port‑terminal management across the United States. Before GPA she was Vice President and General Manager of Field Operations for the Americas at terminal‑software provider Kaleris/Navis, where she supervised around 20 on‑site software deployments per year for over 100 ports and terminals. She said the new role is “an exciting opportunity to find new ways to constantly improve our operations” and aims to keep GPA’s service levels industry‑leading, supporting smoother supply chains and stronger competition in global markets.
