Susan Rutto appointed Acting Executive Director of Kenya's NCA

The National Construction Authority (NCA) has appointed Quantity Surveyor Susan Rutto as the Acting Executive Director, Registrar of Contractors, and Secretary to the Board. Rutto officially assumed the role on September 4, 2024, to lead the institution during a transition period.

Rutto brings over 18 years of experience in Kenya’s construction industry, having worked in both the public and private sectors. She was a founding staff member of the NCA and played a central role in developing contractor registration criteria and processes. Prior to this appointment, she served as the Authority’s General Manager for Registration and Compliance.

Her professional background includes serving as a Superintending Quantity Surveyor at the Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure, Housing, Urban Development and Public Works. She holds an MBA from the Management University of Africa and a degree from the University of Nairobi. Rutto is a registered member of the Board of Registration of Architects and Quantity Surveyors of Kenya (BORAQS) and the Institute of Quantity Surveyors of Kenya (IQSK).
