Susana Rodríguez wins 60th career paratriathlon race in Chiba

Spanish paratriathlete Susana Rodríguez Gacio, accompanied by her guide Sara Pérez, secured her 60th career victory at the Paratriathlon World Cup in Chiba, Japan. Competing in the PTVI category, Rodríguez finished with a time of 1:06:08, finishing more than seven minutes ahead of second-place finisher Marina Mears of the United States and Carly Meyer of Australia.

Rodríguez demonstrated significant dominance across the cycling and running segments. Notably, her performance was strong enough that she likely would have won even without the three-minute and 21-second advantage granted to her category due to her degree of visual impairment.

In recent reflections on her career and recent successes, including a World Championship title in Pontevedra, Rodríguez has discussed overcoming personal challenges, such as recovering from surgery and navigating past competitive frustrations in her home region.
