Susana Werner quits TV novelas citing marriage concerns

Actress Susana Werner announced she has stopped accepting roles in Brazilian telenovelas because she feels the work could jeopardize her marriage to former goalkeeper Júlio César. She said she is uncomfortable with romantic scenes that might affect her relationship and would only consider returning to the medium if she were no longer married.

Werner also revealed she had been offered a part in a Portuguese novela but the project fell through, and she has sold several business interests she owned in Portugal, including beauty salons, to focus on family life in Brazil.
