Susanah clarifies occupation after President Prabowo's wage comments

Susanah, a resident of Cileungsi, Bogor, has clarified her occupation following comments made by President Prabowo Subianto during his annual speech at the MPR/DPR/DPD RI session. In his address, the President identified Susanah as a daily laborer earning Rp700,000 per kilogram for peeling shallots.

Susanah and her family have refuted this description. According to her family, Susanah does not work as an onion peeler. Instead, she works as a seamstress sewing scrap cloth (kain majun) for approximately Rp700 per kilogram, averaging 20 kilograms per day. Her family also noted that her work involves washing food containers (ompreng) for the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program.

The President's mention of the high wage per kilogram sparked significant public debate and speculation on social media regarding the accuracy of the figure and the nature of her employment. Government officials have indicated they will investigate the information regarding the reported wages.
