Japan hospitality sector launches seasonal autumn food promotions

Various Japanese food and hospitality establishments are launching seasonal autumn and winter menus and promotions.

Restaurants and retailers are highlighting seasonal ingredients such as Sanma (Pacific saury), chestnuts, and various fruits. Key offerings include:

• Yayoi Ken is offering Sanma salt-grilled set meals using fish from the Sanriku region. • Sushiro has introduced discounted items like ‘bintoro’ and grilled salmon for 110 yen, alongside seasonal Sanma and scallops. • Mezm Tokyo is collaborating with the New National Theatre to offer a five-course French dinner inspired by the ballet ‘The Nutcracker’. • King Farm in Aichi Prefecture is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a 10-yen strawberry smoothie promotion. • San Marc Cafe is running a campaign for its ‘Premium Choco Cro’ featuring sweet potatoes. • Nankai Electric Railway’s ‘GRAN Tenku’ train is debuting autumn and winter menus featuring local ingredients like Kumano beef. • Huis Ten Bosch’s restaurant Goku is serving a seasonal black vinegar and spicy soup with chestnut and autumn vegetable rice. • Michi-no-Eki Hojo in Tottori is hosting a pear and grape festival featuring seasonal menus and local events.
