Sushiro to open first US restaurant in New York this October

Sushiro, the major Japanese conveyor belt sushi chain, has announced it will open its first United States location in New York City this October. Operated by Food & Life Companies, the new restaurant will be situated in Times Square and will span three floors, including a basement level and two upper floors.

The New York branch will feature over 200 items, including a selection of exclusive menu items designed specifically for the American market, such as the ‘Shrimp Double Cheese Roll’ and ‘Smoked Salmon with Iburi Gakko Cream Cheese’.

Pricing will follow a color-coded system similar to the Japanese model, with standard plates like tuna and salmon starting at $5 for two pieces. Other price tiers will include $6, $8, and $10 options. In an effort to offer competitive pricing, the restaurant will not require customers to pay tips, a departure from standard American dining practices.
