Suspected White House Drone Attack Plot Tied to UFC 250 Ringleader Detained

Federal authorities have taken Abraham Hermosillo Alvarez, 31, into custody as the alleged ringleader of a plot to attack the White House during the UFC Freedom 250 event on June 14. Prosecutors say Alvarez coordinated a plan using drones, explosives, a military‑grade drone, firearms and a flamethrower, targeting President Donald Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, Elon Musk and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The scheme was discussed on encrypted Signal chats and was uncovered by the FBI in early June. Four other men were initially arrested, including Tycen C. Proper of Ohio, who alerted police after his mother discovered his weapons purchases. Subsequent arrests added individuals from California, Missouri, Washington and Illinois. The group allegedly intended to use drones to trigger an evacuation and then open fire with hidden snipers.

A federal magistrate in Lincoln, Nebraska, found probable cause to hold Alvarez without bail. The UFC event proceeded as scheduled, drawing tens of thousands of spectators on the White House South Lawn and millions of viewers nationwide.
