Suspension bridges in Germany: Pet accessibility and features
Germany features several spectacular pedestrian suspension bridges, though accessibility for pets varies by location. For travelers visiting with dogs, the type of flooring is a critical consideration; while wooden floors are more comfortable, metal grating can be painful for paws.
Notable bridges include the Skywalk Willingen, which is the longest in Germany but does not allow dogs. In contrast, the NECKARLINE in Rottweil and the BLACKFORESTLINE in the Black Forest permit dogs. Other locations, such as the Titan RT in the Harz region, only allow small dogs if they are carried.
