Sussex and Calvert Counties initiate property tax billing
Property tax billing processes have commenced in Sussex County, Delaware, and Calvert County, Maryland.
In Sussex County, tax bills for the 2027 fiscal year aim to collect approximately $218 million from an estimated 206,000 parcels. Paper copies will be mailed throughout August to owners without mortgage escrow accounts, with a payment deadline of September 30. Approximately 66,000 bills will be sent electronically to mortgage lenders. The total revenue includes county property taxes, sewer and water fees, and local school district taxes.
In Calvert County, Maryland, property tax bills are currently available for online viewing and payment. Printed bills are scheduled to be mailed soon. Residents can manage payments through the county website, by mail, in person at the Treasurer’s Office, or by phone. Credit and debit card transactions incur a 3.57% convenience fee, while e-check transactions are subject to a $2.59 fee.
