Sussex Inlet police investigate violent car park assault and robbery

Police are investigating an aggravated break and enter and assault that occurred in Sussex Inlet during the early hours of July 18. Three unknown men approached a silver Toyota SUV at Jack Finkernagel Reserve, where a 50-year-old man and two women, aged 33 and 39, were sitting.

The assailants dragged the man from the vehicle, robbing and seriously assaulting him. A 33-year-old woman was also attacked and robbed while attempting to flee. The suspects fled the scene in the silver SUV, which was later found abandoned on Harbord Street.

Paramedics treated the man and the 33-year-old woman for bruising and head injuries at Shoalhaven Hospital. Both have since been released. Detectives have launched an investigation under Strike Force Herani and are seeking information from the public.
