Sustainability and green energy initiatives highlighted in Bosnia and Herzegovina
The 22nd EKOBIS international ecology fair concluded in Bihać, bringing together 218 exhibitors from Bosnia and Herzegovina, the surrounding region, and the European Union. The event focused on environmental protection, sustainable development, and the green economy as essential components of modern business competitiveness.
Mirsad Jašarspahić, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, emphasized that the green transition is critical for positioning local companies within the European market through new technologies and business models.
In Tuzla, local authorities are promoting solar energy adoption to reduce air pollution. The City of Tuzla, in collaboration with the Center for Ecology and Energy, is organizing a presentation to guide citizens through the process of installing solar power plants and achieving prosumer status. The initiative includes technical and administrative guidance on equipment selection, grid connection, and energy billing, specifically targeting applicants for solar panel co-financing programs.
