Sustainability integration drives economic value in Brazilian industry
Sustainability is increasingly being integrated into core business decisions, moving beyond isolated environmental commitments to influence investments, costs, and competitiveness in Brazil.
At the 3rd Fieg Sustainability Awards in Goiás, winners were recognized for practical implementations in environmental, social, and governance areas. These initiatives range from waste recycling to food security and social inclusion. Data from the National Confederation of Industry (CNI) indicates that six out of ten Brazilian industries have adopted circular economy practices, such as recycling and reverse logistics, which contribute to cost reduction and innovation.
In São Paulo, discussions led by FecomercioSP highlighted the shift toward regenerative business models. Using Natura as a case study, experts emphasized that sustainability must be embedded in internal processes and decision-making criteria. This approach considers integrated results, measuring economic performance alongside impacts on human, social, and natural capital.
