Sustainability summits convene in UAE to address climate resilience

Major sustainability and green building summits are taking place in the United Arab Emirates, focusing on economic resilience and decarbonization targets. In Abu Dhabi, the fourth Forbes Middle East Sustainability Leaders Summit opened under the theme ‘Resilience for a Sustainable Future.’ The event, opened by H.E. Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak, UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment, has drawn over 3,000 participants from government, business, and academia to discuss energy security, sustainable investment, and infrastructure.

In Dubai, the Emirates Green Building Council (EmiratesGBC) announced its 15th Annual Congress, ‘Beyond the Sandbox: From Benchmark to Breakthrough.’ The congress arrives as the UAE pursues its Third Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC 3.0), which aims for a 79% reduction in building-sector emissions by 2035. The event seeks to transition the industry from voluntary pilot projects toward mainstream, portfolio-scale market transformations and rigorous accountability in sustainable architecture.
