Sustainable development initiatives launched for European Week

The European Sustainable Development Week (SEDD) is mobilizing local actors to promote ecological transition, with a specific focus on sustainable food systems. This theme addresses health, purchasing power, local agriculture, and food security.

In Chaumont, the city is hosting a program of activities from September 24 to October 8. The schedule includes biodiversity initiatives such as bat listening sessions and bird migration studies, as well as workshops for bicycle repair and green waste valorization. The program will conclude with a large meal featuring local, seasonal products.

Regional efforts include the AgriPéi 2030 initiative, which aims to strengthen resilient agriculture, and the Plan 1 Million d’Arbres, which has already seen over 700,000 trees planted. Additionally, local departments are working to improve food quality and reduce waste in schools through projects like ‘Mieux manger pour tous’.
