Kering Generation Award debuts in India at Lakmé Fashion Week

Sustainability and circularity took center stage at the FDCI Lakmé Fashion Week in Delhi, featuring the Indian debut of the Kering Generation Award. Held at the Embassy of France as part of the India-France Year of Innovation 2026, the award was launched in partnership with Reliance Brands Limited to recognize businesses addressing environmental and social challenges in the fashion and luxury sectors.

Ashita Singhal, founder of Noida-based Paiwand Studio, won the first Indian edition of the Kering Generation Award. Her studio was recognized for transforming pre-consumer textile waste into new materials through handloom weaving and artisan collaboration.

The event also featured the eighth edition of the R|Elan Circular Design Challenge, which celebrates designers utilizing reclaimed materials and craftsmanship. French Ambassador to India Thierry Mathou noted that India serves as a significant source of talent and innovation, emphasizing that the interaction between heritage and innovation is key to a sustainable future.
