Construction industry focuses on sustainability and economic viability

The construction and manufacturing sectors are increasingly focusing on sustainability, circularity, and technological innovation to meet environmental demands and economic necessity.

Theo Winter, an executive at Dura Vermeer, notes that while the transition to sustainable solutions like electric construction machinery is necessary, economic viability remains a hurdle. He suggests a ‘first follower’ strategy, where companies implement proven sustainable solutions at scale once they become commercially viable, rather than always being the first to pioneer costly technologies.

To address these industrial challenges, the Tech Dialogue: Industrial Sustainability congress will be held on November 26 at Mikrocentrum in Veldhoven. The event aims to help high-tech and manufacturing companies integrate sustainability into their business models, focusing on how technological, organizational, and economic decisions intersect to create a competitive, future-proof industry.
