SUUMO 2026 rankings highlight Kawagoe and Sakuradai

Recruit Co., Ltd. has released the ‘SUUMO Rankings 2026 Metropolitan Edition,’ a biennial survey measuring resident satisfaction and the desire to continue living in specific areas within the Tokyo metropolitan region.

In the ‘Delicious Towns’ category for Saitama Prefecture, the Kawagoe area ranked first, with Hon-Kawagoe Station taking the top spot. Other notable rankings in the metropolitan area include Kugenuma as the top ‘Town People Want to Live In’ and Kojimachi as the top ‘Easy to Raise Children’ location.

The survey also highlighted trends in the ‘Tokyo North’ region, comprising Kita, Itabashi, Nerima, and Toshima wards. While major hubs like Ikebukuro often lead popularity polls, the ‘Want to Continue Living’ metric showed high satisfaction in quieter residential areas such as Sakuradai Station in Nerima Ward. Sakuradai was noted for its balance of calm residential environments, accessibility to central Tokyo, and proximity to the amenities of neighboring Nerima and Ekoda.
