Suunto expands sports watch lineup with Run 2 and Race 3 series

Suunto is expanding its lineup of sports watches with new hardware developments and software enhancements. The upcoming Race 3 and Race 3S generation is expected to feature AMOLED displays and dual-band GPS. While the Race 3S may include sapphire glass, reports suggest the standard Race 3 might utilize mineral glass to prioritize battery life and cost management.

A significant software focus for the Race 3 series appears to be an expanded version of the Suunto AI Coach.

Additionally, the Suunto Run 2 has entered the market as an upgraded entry-level option for runners. This second-generation model introduces offline map support, a brighter OLED screen, and improved sensors for heart rate and blood oxygen monitoring. Despite a price increase driven by global memory market fluctuations, the Run 2 offers higher storage capacities up to 64 GB to facilitate music playback and navigation.
