Suunto launches Run 2 smartwatch and Smart Heart Rate Belt 2
Suunto has announced the global launch of the Suunto Run 2, a lightweight smartwatch specifically designed for road running and marathon training. The device features a 35g case, a 1.32-inch AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 2,000 nits, and a 380 mAh battery providing approximately 10 days of typical use. It includes dual-band GNSS for precise positioning and offers free worldwide offline maps.
The Run 2 is available in 4GB and 64GB storage versions. Despite some initial confusion regarding mapping capabilities on the 4GB model, Suunto has confirmed that offline maps are available on both versions. The watch includes advanced running tools such as Ghost Runner, Pace Maker, and Marathon Time, alongside a redesigned 12-channel wrist heart rate sensor.
Accompanying the watch is the Suunto Smart Heart Rate Belt 2, an improved chest strap designed for more accurate activity analysis. It allows for real-time tracking of parameters including aerobic and anaerobic effort, VO2max, and step cadence.
