Suvendu Adhikari meets BJP in Delhi as TMC MPs shift to NCPI

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari and state BJP chief Samik Bhattacharya held a consultative meeting with BJP National General Secretary Sunil Bansal in New Delhi. During the talks the chief minister also met former Trinamool Congress (TMC) MPs at Banga Bhawan, discussing issues affecting tea garden and textile workers.

The meetings come after twenty TMC Lok Sabha MPs left the party, merged with the Nationalist Citizens Party of India (NCPI) and pledged support to the BJP‑led National Democratic Alliance. The realignment is seen as a strategy to navigate anti‑defection rules, while speculation remains about internal unity within the NCPI after three of its leaders missed a recent NDA parliamentary gathering.
