Suwa Lake Festival Fireworks Display held in Nagano

The 78th Suwa Lake Festival Fireworks Display took place on the night of August 15 in Suwa City, Nagano Prefecture. Originally established in 1949 to aid in post-war reconstruction, the event drew large crowds to witness the signature water-surface star mines that illuminate the lake.

The approximately 90-minute show featured massive fireworks displays that spectators described as deeply moving. Following this event, Suwa Lake is scheduled to host the ‘National New Fireworks Challenge Cup’ every Saturday starting in September.
