Suwałki commemorates 107th anniversary of city liberation

Suwałki held ceremonies to commemorate the 107th anniversary of the city's liberation on August 24, 1919. The event included flower laying ceremonies at the monument of the Polish Military Organization and the monument of Marshal Józef Piłsudski.

Local officials, including Suwałki President Czesław Renkiewicz and MP Jarosław Zieliński, participated in the commemorations. During his speech, Renkiewicz honored the architects of the city's freedom—Walery Roman, Aleksander Putra, and Father Stanisław Szczęsnowicz—and emphasized the importance of educating younger generations about the struggle for independence.
