Suwałki to host 6th ‘Wajda na Nowo’ film festival

The 6th edition of the ‘Wajda na Nowo’ film festival is scheduled to take place in Suwałki from August 20 to 23, 2026. This year’s event honors the legacy of the renowned Oscar-winning Polish director Andrzej Wajda, who was born in the city.

The festival will feature a variety of programming, including debates, meetings with creators, exhibitions, and a competition for young filmmakers. A new mural dedicated to Wajda will be unveiled on Andrzej Wajda Street during the event.

Notable Polish actors and creators are expected to attend, including Janusz Gajos, Robert Więckiewicz, Anna Seniuk, Emilia Krakowska, Maja Komorowska, Magdalena Zawadzka, Olgierd Łukaszewicz, and Joanna Szczepkowska, as well as Oscar winner Allan Starski, graphic artist Andrzej Pągowski, and director Wojciech Marczewski.
