Suwałki Tops Municipal Wealth Ranking as Koszarawa Leads Gmina Scores
The Polish journal Wspólnota released its 2025 ranking of municipal wealth, analysing financial indicators such as own‑source revenues and subventions while excluding one‑off investment grants. Suwałki, a city with county rights, recorded the strongest improvement among its peers, rising to the top of the “most dynamic” list. Mayor Czesław Renkiewicz highlighted a 4‑5 % increase in real municipal revenues nationwide and the role of EU Recovery Plan funds in reviving investment spending.
In Żywiec County, the village of Koszarawa achieved the highest per‑capita income among local gminas, moving from 102nd to 85th place nationally with a per‑resident income of 8 264.98 zł. Nearby gminas Rajcza and Świnna were also noted for their positions in the national ranking. The report provides a comparative view of 1 459 Polish gminas, showing which municipalities have improved or declined in financial standing.
