Japanese athletes excel in golf and table tennis competitions

In Japanese professional sports, golfers Ayaka Furue and Rin Yoshida showed strong performances at the Fujitsu Ladies tournament in Chiba. Ayaka Furue finished in 8th place with a total of 13 under par, marking her fourth consecutive top-10 finish. Following a successful domestic stint, Furue is preparing to return to the US tour, targeting a spot in the top 60 of the annual points rankings to qualify for the CME Group Tour Championship.

Rising star Rin Yoshida surged from 46th to 8th place after a standout round of 65, which included an eagle. The 22-year-old, who has already secured two wins this season, expressed a strong desire to achieve a third title to prove her skill.

In table tennis, 17-year-old Ryusei Kawakami led Kinoshita Meister Tokyo to a 3-1 victory over Okayama Rivets in the T-League. Kawakami secured the win by defeating 43-year-old former Chinese national team player Hao Shuai, overcoming a 26-year age gap. Kawakami, who trains with Olympic medalist Koki Niwa, is now preparing for the upcoming Youth Olympics in Dakar.
