Suzano acquires 10% stake in Imetame port project in Espírito Santo

Suzano has signed an agreement with Grupo Imetame to acquire a 10% stake in Imetame Logística Porto S.A. The company is participating in the deal through the contribution of its own strategic land located in Aracruz, Espírito Santo.

The project involves the development of a greenfield port complex featuring five specialized terminals: containers, general cargo, solid bulk, liquid bulk, and ship-to-ship operations. General cargo operations are expected to begin in early 2027.

A container terminal will be developed as a joint venture, with Hanseatic Global Terminals (HGT)—a division of the German shipping company Hapag-Lloyd—holding a 50% stake. This terminal is projected to have a future capacity of approximately 1.2 million TEUs per year and is expected to begin operations in mid-2028.

Suzano stated that the acquisition will not significantly impact its capital structure or the operational and economic performance of its Aracruz cellulose unit. Additionally, the company does not anticipate any capital expenditure (capex) related to this stake in 2026.
