Suzlon Energy Q1 FY27 revenue up 23% as profit falls 6%, shares drop 9%

Suzlon Energy reported first‑quarter FY27 revenue of Rs 3,819 crore, a 22.5% year‑on‑year increase from Rs 3,117 crore. Net profit after tax fell 5.9% YoY to Rs 305 crore, while earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation were roughly flat at Rs 595 crore, with the EBITDA margin narrowing to 15.6%.

The company delivered a record 506 MW of wind power, 14% higher than a year earlier, and more than doubled commissioning to 269 MW. Suzlon added nearly 1 GW of new orders, including large EPC contracts from Tata Power and the Waaree Group, bringing its cumulative order book to about 6.1 GW, with EPC projects now accounting for 32% of the book. The stock fell over 9% on the announcement, trading around Rs 48 per share. Senior executives Ajay Kapur (CEO) and Girish Tanti (Vice Chairman) highlighted the launch of the S175 5 MW turbine platform and the company’s new "Suzlon 2.0" strategy aimed at expanding four strategic business verticals.
