Suzlon Energy shares face pressure amid margin compression

Suzlon Energy shares have faced significant downward pressure, declining approximately 20% year-to-date and 27% over the last three months. The stock recently traded near ₹42, down from a 52-week high of approximately ₹61.50.

The decline is attributed to margin compression reported in the first quarter of fiscal year 2027. While revenue grew by over 22% year-on-year to ₹3,819 crore, EBITDA margins narrowed to 15.6% from 19.2% in the same period last year. This contraction was driven by investment costs for the ‘Suzlon 2.0’ initiative, higher supply chain and logistics expenses, and industry-wide challenges such as land acquisition and grid transmission infrastructure issues.

Despite the recent volatility, the company maintains a net-cash position and holds a 6.1 GW order book. On September 15, 2026, the stock showed signs of cautious recovery, opening slightly higher at ₹44.53.
