Suzuka 1000km: Porsche secures victory as Ayhancan Güven takes third

The 50th Suzuka 1000km, part of the Intercontinental GT Challenge (IGTC), concluded at the Suzuka Circuit in Japan. The race saw a victory for the number 8 Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo operated by AO Absolute Racing, driven by Alessio Picariello, Lauryn Heinrich, and Julien Andrauer.

Turkish driver Ayhancan Güven secured a third-place podium finish. Competing in the number 7 Porsche 911 GT3 R alongside teammates Dorian Boccolacci and Alessandro Ghiretti, Güven and his team completed the endurance event in the top three.

The race featured significant technical drama involving the Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo team. Despite recording the fastest average qualifying times, the team was forced to start from the back of the grid after a post-session inspection revealed the vehicle did not meet minimum weight requirements, resulting in the deletion of all lap times.
