Suzuki unveils 2026 GSX-R1000R superbike in Japan

Suzuki has officially unveiled the 2026 GSX-R1000R superbike in the Japanese market. This release marks the return of the model to its domestic market after it had ceased sales there in 2022.

The 2026 model features significant upgrades to its chassis and equipment while maintaining the signature supersport style of the GSX-R line. It is powered by a 999cc liquid-cooled, DOHC, 4-cylinder engine that produces a maximum power of 190 PS (140 kW) at 13,200 rpm and a peak torque of 108 Nm at 11,000 rpm.

Key technical enhancements include an increased throttle body diameter from 46 mm to 48 mm and a redesigned exhaust system featuring a more compact titanium muffler. For improved aerodynamics and stability at high speeds, the motorcycle integrates carbon fiber winglets designed to increase downforce on the front end. The bike weighs 203 kg and includes ABS for both front and rear braking systems.
