Suzuki unveils new Across Plug-In Hybrid flagship SUV
Suzuki has introduced the new Across Plug-In Hybrid 2.5 TOP 4WD AT, a D-segment SUV designed to serve as the brand's flagship model. The vehicle features an all-wheel-drive system and is based on the Toyota RAV4, reflecting the ongoing technical collaboration and equity relationship between the two Japanese automakers.
The new Across features a redesigned exterior with a vertical front grille, full LED lighting, and 18-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the cabin utilizes an ‘island architecture’ with a lowered dashboard to improve visibility. Digital features include a 12.3-inch customizable digital cluster, a 12.9-inch central touchscreen, and a head-up display. The interior also offers premium materials, heated and ventilated seats, and a dual-zone climate control system.
In the Italian market, Suzuki maintains a strong position, particularly in the hybrid segment. Massimo Nalli, head of Suzuki's Italian subsidiary, noted the company's profitability and strategic focus. The Across plug-in hybrid is expected to reach volumes of approximately 500 units per year starting in 2027.
