Suzuyo acquires 80% stake in Danish football club Randers FC
Japanese logistics company Suzuyo has acquired an 80 percent stake in Randers FC, a professional football club competing in the Danish Superliga. The agreement, effective August 28, 2026, leaves Randers FC Holding with the remaining 20 percent as a local co-owner.
The acquisition aims to foster a partnership between Randers FC and the J-League club Shimizu S-Pulse, both of which are supported by Suzuyo. The collaboration is designed to share expertise in management, sports development, and youth training. A key objective is to create better career opportunities for players and improve the market valuation of Japanese players transferring to European leagues by using Denmark as a strategic gateway.
Suzuyo intends to maintain the club’s local identity and existing management structure. The company emphasized that it is seeking long-term sustainable development rather than short-term investment returns, aligning with its corporate philosophy of ‘Tomoiki’ (symbiosis) and community engagement.
