SV Blau-Weiß Wiehre Freiburg wins DFB Zukunftspreis for inclusive youth football

The football club SV Blau-Weiß Wiehre Freiburg (Germany) was awarded the DFB Zukunftspreis 2025/26, one of only five clubs nationwide recognized for outstanding inclusive youth work. The club runs teams for children aged 5 to 16 in the districts of Haslach‑Weingarten, providing high‑quality training by qualified coaches and emphasizing social integration regardless of background, gender or physical ability.

Through a partnership with Bundesliga side SC Freiburg, the club benefits from joint training sessions, coach education and the opportunity for its youth players to act as halftime mascots at SC Freiburg home matches. The award highlights the club’s commitment to a comprehensive child‑protection concept, sustainability strategy and community collaboration with local schools and youth organisations.
