SV Meppen fans targeted in attack at A4 motorway rest area

A group of SV Meppen supporters was targeted in an attack at the Königstal rest area on the A4 motorway following their away match against Alemannia Aachen.

According to police reports, an eight-person group of Meppen fans was making a stop during their return journey when a vehicle carrying approximately ten individuals arrived. The attackers were reportedly dressed in black and wore masks. During the encounter, one individual damaged a vehicle's side mirror and stole two fan scarves.

No physical injuries were reported, and no large-scale fight occurred. Authorities have launched an investigation into theft and property damage. While the incident occurred following a 3-0 victory for Meppen, police have not yet established a connection to specific rival fan groups. SV Meppen management, including Managing Director Florian Egbers, is in contact with authorities and has condemned all forms of violence.
