Borussia Dortmund reports 21.7 million euro loss
Borussia Dortmund is facing a challenging financial period, reporting a group loss of 21.7 million euros for the 2025/26 fiscal year. This follows a previous profit of 6.5 million euros. The loss is attributed largely to reduced revenues from the Champions League after an early exit in the play-offs, with tournament income dropping from 103.4 million to 72.1 million euros. Despite this, the club saw an increase in revenue from player sales, which rose to 59.3 million euros.
On the pitch and in the market, several developments are underway. Player market values have seen significant shifts; Felix Nmecha’s value rose to 65 million euros, while young talent Mathis Albert saw his value increase sixteen-fold to 5 million euros. Meanwhile, striker Serhou Guirassy has addressed transfer rumors, stating he has “consciously decided to stay at BVB.”
Regarding squad depth, the club is reportedly interested in a winter transfer for Marcel Regula from Zagłębie Lubin. Although a summer move failed when the club opted to loan Ethan Nwaneri from Arsenal, sporting director Ole Book indicated that the club is still analyzing its squad depth and may seek new additions depending on player departures.
