Svatopluk Kapounek re-elected dean of Mendel University faculty

Svatopluk Kapounek has been re-elected by the Academic Senate to serve as the dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics at Mendel University in Brno for the 2027–2031 term.

During his previous tenure, Kapounek focused on improving the faculty's reputation and reversing declining interest in studies, reporting an average annual increase in applicants of up to 22%. For his upcoming term, Kapounek aims to transform the faculty into a Central European hub for education and research in economics and business management through the use of information technology.

Key priorities for the next term include preparing for the re-accreditation and reform of most study programs by 2030, with an emphasis on flexible study forms, hybrid teaching, and the integration of artificial intelligence. He also intends to prepare the faculty for legislative changes regarding university financing and the career development of academic staff.
