SVD basketball withdraws from Oberliga due to roster shortages

The SVD basketball team has withdrawn from the Oberliga after being promoted from the 2. Regionalliga. Club chairman Henrik Sojka stated that the decision was necessary because the team could not guarantee a reliable competitive operation.

The withdrawal follows a significant depletion of the roster, with several key players leaving for other clubs or relocating. Additionally, the planned player-coaches, Malte Stenzel and Daniel Eisenhardt, would have been unavailable for several weeks due to professional commitments.

As a result of the withdrawal, the Oberliga will proceed with eleven teams instead of the planned twelve.
