Svetilnik initiative reaches 33,000 students through school anthems
The ‘Svetilnik’ initiative, which facilitates the creation of school anthems, has reached 33,000 students. Since its launch in 2021, 40 schools across 20 locations in Bulgaria have received custom anthems, as well as the Bulgarian Bolgrad Gymnasium in Ukraine.
The sixth edition of the initiative has officially commenced under the patronage of the Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Culture. Education Minister Prof. Georgi Valchev stated that the project aims to revive the sense of school community, helping schools become a ‘second home’ for children while fostering an appreciation for music, language, and creativity.
For this year’s edition, the motto is derived from the poem ‘V Rodinata’ by Petya Dubarova. Invitations to participate have been extended to schools in several Bulgarian cities, including Sofia, Gabrovo, Lovech, Pleven, Troyan, Shumen, Razgrad, Asenovgrad, and Sevlievo.
