Real Madrid faces internal tension under Jose Mourinho

Real Madrid is navigating a period of significant internal and external transition following the return of manager Jose Mourinho. The club is facing scrutiny over player performances, particularly regarding Vinicius Junior, who has faced criticism from former players and pundits for his recent form and perceived lack of contribution on the pitch.

Reports indicate that Mourinho’s return was facilitated by Florentino Perez, who reportedly intervened to secure the manager's services, leading Mourinho to decline an opportunity to manage the Portuguese national team. Meanwhile, the club is managing various player situations, including the recovery of Rodrygo from a long-term knee injury and interest from Italian clubs in signing Endrick Felipe on loan.

In the transfer market, Mourinho is reportedly interested in pursuing Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk, whose contract is nearing its end. Additionally, the club has faced tension with the media, recently issuing a public critique against journalist Juanma Castaño. On the international stage, tensions have surfaced within the Portuguese national team following a disagreement between Cristiano Ronaldo and manager Jorge Jesus regarding playing time.
