Balkan region hosts diverse cultural and gastronomic festivals
Various cultural and gastronomic events are taking place across the Balkan region. In North Macedonia, Bosnian academic painter Amer Hadžić is holding a solo exhibition titled ‘Whatever’ at the Museum Gallery Kavadarci, featuring 28 works that explore identity and contemporary society.
In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the 15th Street Arts Festival in Mostar has brought international artists to the city to create murals and installations. Meanwhile, Sarajevo is preparing for the grand opening of the Museum of Islamic Culture and Art on September 4, 2026, which will showcase the region's authentic Islamic heritage.
Gastronomic traditions are also being celebrated. Serbia is hosting the 36th Roštiljijada in Leskovac, featuring traditional grilling and concerts. In Croatia, Samobor is preparing for the Days of Samobor Bermet, and Pag is hosting its 10th Cheese Festival. Additionally, the Vibrez festival in Split will feature international musical acts like Mogwai and Morcheeba at the Meštrović Gallery.
Other notable events include art exhibitions for young creators in Cetinje, Montenegro, and a contemporary art exhibition by Ivana Svjetličić in Sisak, Croatia.
