Swan Hellenic partners with SETI Institute for space exploration cruises

Swan Hellenic, a global expedition cruise provider, has announced its fifth consecutive collaboration with the SETI Institute for the program ‘Exploring Space from the Sea.’ The partnership will feature six different itineraries between March and November 2027.

Onboard the expedition ships SH Vega, SH Diana, and SH Minerva, experts in astronomy, astrophysics, and planetary science will deliver lectures to passengers. These presentations will cover current research regarding distant galaxies and the search for life on other planets. The expeditions will traverse various regions, including the South Atlantic, the Pacific, the Arctic, and the coast of West Africa.

The program aims to connect terrestrial exploration with space science, such as comparing volcanic landscapes in the Pacific Ring of Fire to processes on other planets. Mario Bounas, CCO of Swan Hellenic, noted that the journeys will explore fascinating scientific questions while visiting extraordinary destinations.
