Swansea City submits bid for Valencia midfielder Andre Almeida

Swansea City have officially submitted a bid to sign 26‑year‑old Portuguese midfielder Andre Almeida from Valencia CF. Valencia are reportedly willing to listen, hoping to avoid a loss on the €8 million fee they paid for the player in 2022. The exact amount of Swansea's offer has not been disclosed.

Almeida, who signed a contract extension with Valencia until 2029 in September, has struggled for form, recording four goals and 13 assists in 119 appearances and missing the past two seasons due to a spinal fracture. Reports suggest he is not currently interested in a move to the English Championship.

Swansea, who have already added Stephen Welsh, Moussa Yeo, Elijah Just and Joseph Opoku to the squad this summer and sold Liam Cullen to Leicester City, previously failed to secure Algerian midfielder Yacine Titraoui, who is now close to a move to French side RC Lens.
