Swansea City votes on new badge and advances stadium ownership deal

Swansea City AFC opened a club‑wide vote on a new primary crest, proposing to replace the current badge with a standalone swan design. The one‑question survey was emailed to all 2026‑27 season ticket holders and members of the Jack Army, with voting closing on 17 August. Supporters can choose “happy with either” which counts as a vote for the change. The club says the swan‑only badge will become the primary crest while the existing version remains a secondary emblem, mainly affecting the home shirt design for the 2027‑28 season.

At the same time, club chief executive Tom Gorringe confirmed that a price has been agreed for the purchase of the Swansea.com Stadium from the council, though the transaction is not yet completed. Ownership would give the club control over its most valuable asset, improve long‑term financial stability, and open revenue opportunities such as hosting events. The move is described as securing the club’s future and enhancing its attractiveness to investors.
