Eom Ji-sung targeted by alleged racist abuse during Swansea City win

Swansea City winger Eom Ji-sung was targeted by alleged racist chanting during a Championship match against Millwall at The Den. The incident occurred in the 65th minute while Eom was warming up on the sidelines as a substitute.

Referee Edward Duckworth halted the match for approximately seven minutes to consult with club managers Vitor Matos and Alex Neil, as well as security personnel. Following the delay, stadium announcements confirmed that reports of racist chanting had been received and that police were utilizing CCTV to identify the offenders.

Both clubs have issued statements condemning the behavior. Swansea City pledged full support to Eom, stating they will follow all necessary procedures and investigations. Millwall FC maintained a ‘zero tolerance’ policy toward discrimination and confirmed they are cooperating with the police to take the strongest possible action against those involved.

Despite the disruption, Swansea City secured a 1-0 victory with a late goal from Ronald, maintaining their position at the top of the league table.
