Swappie expands into refurbished MacBook market

Swappie, a European leader in refurbished technology, is expanding its product portfolio to include refurbished MacBooks. Following its previous expansions into iPads and AirPods, the company aims to make refurbished computing a mainstream choice.

The initial offering will focus on models released from 2020 onwards, specifically those equipped with Apple Silicon processors, ranging from the MacBook Air M1 to M2 and M3 models. Swappie utilizes an internal technical refurbishment process that includes performance and component testing, battery assessment, and keyboard localization for specific markets.

In Belgium, the company plans to launch this new category on August 31, 2026. This move comes as consumer trends shift toward reused technology due to rising prices for new electronics. Internal research indicates that 45% of Belgian consumers view refurbished devices as a legitimate alternative to new ones, with financial savings being a primary motivator for 49% of respondents.
