Indian actress Swara Bhasker has addressed ongoing online harassment and body shaming through both fashion and public statements. She recently drew attention for wearing a blouse featuring the word ‘Moti’—a term frequently used by trolls to target her weight. Bhasker stated that the choice was intended to reclaim an insult and turn it into a personal statement rather than allowing it to define her.

Separately, Bhasker has responded to renewed controversy regarding her past comments on the film Padmaavat. She characterized the resurgence of the decade-old debate as ‘constructed’ and claimed that certain groups deliberately manufacture and amplify controversies involving her to serve specific agendas. She further alleged that some individuals profit from the continuous cycle of misquoting and harassing her online.
