Sweden advances new swimming and sports facility projects
New swimming and sports facility projects are advancing in two Swedish municipalities.
In Rödeby, Karlskrona, construction of a new swimming hall is following its schedule. After focusing on underground structures such as the basement and technical spaces, the project is moving into a more visible phase. The building's frame is expected to be erected by mid-November, with the goal of having the structure watertight before Christmas. The facility, which will include a 25-meter pool and a teaching pool with adjustable floors, is slated for completion in the spring of 2028.
In Huddinge, the first spade was officially turned for a new swimming and sports hall. The project, managed by Huddinge Samhällsfastigheter in collaboration with contractor Cobab AB, aims to serve as a modern meeting place for various age groups. The facility is designed to support both recreational sports and high-level competitive training, addressing the needs of a growing population.
