Sweden economic anxiety rises amid prolonged government formation

A new survey conducted by Länsförsäkringar and Verian indicates growing economic anxiety among Swedes, largely attributed to a prolonged government formation process. Approximately 49 percent of respondents believe the delay in forming a government will negatively impact the Swedish economy.

The political uncertainty is influencing consumer behavior, with 30 percent of those surveyed stating they are less inclined to make major financial decisions, such as purchasing property, changing jobs, or making investments.

Additionally, concerns regarding inflation and rising interest rates have doubled, with 27 percent of respondents citing these as their primary economic worry, compared to 13 percent in the previous measurement. Conversely, hope for declining interest rates has nearly halved.
